"Sudeepa, a Sanskrit word for the Supreme light of God, was the name given to me by my spiritual teacher on Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights, in 1995.
When I received this name, I recognized it as a powerful tool given to help me remember and draw forth the nature of my own true Self. Even before I understood consciously why, I had always been drawn to, and had filled my world with, things that reflect light. I now understand this to have been a way of calling forth that divine light within myself.
As I have opened more and more to the awareness of this innate
radiance, I have begun to see myself in ways that I never allowed myself to
in the past. New ways of expression and doors of creativity have begun to
open. Once again, it was the quality of light that I found in the beads and
crystals that drew me to working with them and creating jewelry. “

Sudeepa and her husband, David, live in Traverse City, Michigan with their two daughters, Anna and Erin. In addition to jewelry-making, she also enjoys photography, a good glass of wine shared with friends, knitting, a day at the beach, and the rare moment of solitude.
